Engineering has conducted an awareness program on “Novel Corona Virus” to the Teaching and Non Teaching staff on
13-02-2020. The same was discussed with the students.
Department of Civil Engineering has organized a one day National Level Workshop on 'National Workshop on Structural Design of Building Systems' on 15-02-2020.Dr.V.Kalyanaraman, Former Professor, IIT Madras inaugurated the workshop and gave a lecture on the topic ”Methods of Analysis to Structural Design” .In the second half of the forenoon session, Dr. Sreenath, Design Manager, L&T briefed about ”Design of Composite Building” In the afternoon session Three lectures were presented. First one is on “ETABS Analysis-Design” by Dr.Mashudha Sultana, Project Scientist, IITM. Second one is given by Dr. C.V.R. Murthy, Professor, IIT Madras on the topic ”Challenges in Structural Design”. Last session is handled by Mr.Charan Raju, Senior Design Engineer, COWI on the topic “Future Trends in Structural Design”
K.Jeevitha, Final year, secured 1nd position in 10 k Women ‘Madras Inner Strength Marathon’ held in Mayajal on 16-02-2020.
K.Muthu Ganesh, PG Student has presented a paper
titled ”Steel Intensive Food Grain Godown” at the National Level Best
Innovative Structural Steel Design Competition organized by INSDAG, Kolkata on
14th and 15th February 2020.He is one among the top 14 participants
in India.
